Gazebo Swans

So here is my next question about the thisoldtoy.com (TOT) Precious Places parts lists: How many swans were originally included in the Twirling Melody Gazebo set?

The reason I'm wondering is because on ebay you always see the set being sold with one swan, never two. However, the TOT parts list for the Twirling Melody Gazebo says the set came with two swans.

Has anyone bought a new in the box Twirling Melody Gazebo recently? Did it come with one swan or two? Or maybe you have the original box. Does it say on the box how many swans are included? Please let me know! Thanks!

  1. I don't have the original box because I collected the PP at the age of 8. But I have the twirling melody gazebo and just one swan.

Thanks for the info. I thought it seemed like there should be just one, but I didn't have the set as a child, so I wasn't sure. That's really good to know. Do you still have all your sets from when you were little? That's great that you got to collect them when they were in stores!

  3. I had a lot of them as a kid and completed part of my collection on ebay (when the price is reasonnable!). I still miss the playroom, Pretty penny wishing well, Andy and his skateboard and the supposed dinning room. I really hope for Andy and the playroom, so I can give them to my daughter one day...
By the way I love your Blog! Have a nice day!

  4. It is interesting how the prices on e-bay seem to go up and down. Sometimes it seems like PP sets go for practically nothing, but then a couple weeks ago a large lot of them went for about $175!

I too am hoping that my daughter will love playing with the sets and am dreaming up a way to have them displayed on a shelf around the top of her room (sort of like what some people do with model trains). But since my girl is only 6 months old, we've got some time to figure it out!

I'm glad you like the blog. I know I haven't posted much lately (busy with baby), but I have a whole bunch more posts I want to write, so keep checking back.

  5. I was wondering if you have some parts of the collection missin or if you have everything. Maybe you have some twice. We could make exchanges... By the way, sorry if sometimes my writting is weird, English is my second langage.

  6. I have this set up on ebay right now and it has two swans. I bought a large number of sets at once and all of them had just what they originally came with - no duplicates. So it would seem odd to me that this one item would be duplicated. I think it came with two. However, I do think the company changed things all the time. You've cited several items - like the little heart shaped peg ( out of all these buildings, I think we had ne of these, and they are useless so I don't understand them - I bet they stopped sticing them in the sets.

Great website, bTW - wish I'd stumbled across it before putting sutff up to sell.

I do not have absolutely every piece ever made, but close. The things I'm missing are the very rare parts, so it is unlikely that you would have them. I do have lots of duplicates though (almost a whole second village). I will be putting them up on e-bay some day, so keep an eye out there.

I saw your eBay listing last month with the two swans and wondered about it. Thanks for filling me in on the back story. It does seem odd that one item of everything you bought would be duplicated. Perhaps you are right that two swans were later changed to one swan. Otherwise it seems like there would be more listings with two swans.

Glad you like the blog. Thanks again for commenting.
